UBI for creatives
i was recently reading this news article on how Ireland is introducing UBI for artists. Most countries around the world might have to do this. I started off my career as a freelance content writer for a small business this was around 2017. Today, that business owner would probably have used AI. If I had not gotten that start, I don't know where my career would've gone.
now with AI, artists and writers are puzzled. what is the value for our art? when i used to hand off my content to the design team the average time to deliver was like a week, especially for more complex designs like infographics. now its instant. what is the value in having humans? (from the pov of a business i mean)
we may be going back to the times where we do art for art's sake. where we write because we want to. like this blog that i have. no one pays me to do it. i don't even edit it. goes without saying i don't use ai either.
